Close-up detail of a sculpture called ‘Candela’ by artist Fiona Campbell as a giant flock of around 60 brightly coloured swan sculptures are prepared and arranged in the grounds of the Bishops Palace, Wells. The swans, which were commissioned for the Swans of Wells trail and a celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, each representing a year of her Magesty’s 60 year reign, have been gathered together as they are to be acutioned off on September 29th. The five foot tall swan sculptures are decorated by artists from the West Country and beyond, creating eye-catching sculptures from abstracts to mosaics to dinosaurs. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo.
