Albatross, 1.5m, recycled plastic and wire, made with Yrs 4-8, Hazlegrove Prep School, 2018

Fiona created the Albatross sculpture with schoolchildren Years 4-8 at Hazlegrove Prep School, Somerset - now sited permanently in their school atrium. Made from recycled plastic and wire, it was inspired by the plight of thousands of albatross chicks dying from bloated stomachs filled with plastic. Their parents mistake floating objects like lighters and bottle tops for morsels of fish.

An A1 print of the work featured as part of The Ocean Matters exhibition, Bristol Aquarium in May 2018, organised by Bath Spa University. The work remains on show.
