Whale
Beckington C of E First School Sculpture Workshop, 2018
The one-day workshop offered each child in Beckington First School, from 4-9 year olds, an opportunity to take part in making a collaborative sculptural artwork using recycled materials especially plastic, as an environmental project highlighting waste. The decorative 2-d whale and accompanying sea creatures linked to the story of ‘Jonah and the Whale’ to tie in with the school’s theme ‘Retell, Reused, Recycled’. Those involved helped collect plastic for the project and the sculptures were installed for permanent display in the school grounds.
