Debris is a singular piece, which became part of a large installation Fiona developed with the same title. That combined various collected objects and materials - found and made, including metal, sisal, rubber, wax painted branches, papier mache, grass and coal. Like a spider catches prey, selected elements are suspended in a web-like construction, inspired by a section of a decaying holdfast. An essential aspect of the work is Fiona’s use of found and discarded materials. She is also interested in transgressing boundaries. taking lines beyond edges.
