Copper wire, handmade khadi paper, linseed oil, rabbit skin glue, sisal, wall paper paste
2017
Based on whelk egg sacs, the drawing takes line from 2d to 3d, ‘situated between image and object’ (Fer, 2004). Its edges extend outwards as ‘lateral continuity’ by finely woven copper wire grids (Krauss, 1985). Drawing over drawing with wire, some marks recede, others recovered, expanding into and out of form. They relate to an essence of becoming, emergence, beginnings of life, embodiments, ephemerality, mutability, bodily forms that oscillate, skin over amorphous shapes.
